Mini Monday

I’ve seen real-life resurrection.

I’ve witnessed God breathe life into my daughter’s cold, blue body as I was holding her in my arms.

I’ve watched scans that showed the end of a chapter transform within days, testifying that there was more to the story.

I’ve lived through the death of what I thought my life would look like and emerged with a greater sense of what truly living is all about.

Our good God is in the business of bringing dead things back to life.

Sometimes it’s in the miraculous reversal of a diagnosis

…or sometimes it’s in the inexplicable peace you didn’t even know was possible.

Sometimes it’s in the sudden fruition of a dream you thought was over

…or sometimes it’s in the plot-twist you never saw coming.

Sometimes it’s in the unbelievable breakthrough you receive at rock bottom

…or sometimes it’s in the community that wraps around you in your mess.

No matter the circumstance, there is always new life to be discovered among the ashes.

We just need eyes to see it and the spirit to embrace it.

Holy Spirit, come. Teach us to watch for how you’re moving when all hope seems lost. Remind us that resurrection is your speciality. Guide us into abundant life, both now on earth and forever in heaven.

Amen.
