Understanding is not a prerequisite for obedience.
There will be times in our lives when God will call us to obedience in situations we don’t fully understand.
At times, it’s not about what God is doing through us.
Sometimes, it’s about what He’s doing within us.
At times, it’s not about the actual outcome.
Sometimes, the focus is solely on the posture of our hearts.
In the end, our response might be all that truly matters.
What if He needs to know He can trust us in the small things, so when that crazy assignment comes, He knows He can trust us to step out in faith?
Like Abraham leaving his home
Like Noah building a boat
Like Joshua marching around Jericho
Like Hosea marrying a prostitute
Like Ezekiel prophesying over dry bones
Like Elijah following God into the desert
Like Naaman dipping in the Jordan River
Luke 16:10 reminds us that faithfulness in small matters proves trustworthiness for greater matters. Trustworthiness is a characteristic that God deeply values.
What is He calling you to today?
What is He asking you to surrender?
What is He urging you to step into?
What is He seeking your faithful obedience in, even when you don’t fully understand it?
Will He have your “yes”?
