We all know that only Jesus is the true source of salvation – He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. However, scripture tells us again and again that we are vessels of the Lord, commissioned by Him to be the light to an otherwise very dark world. As followers of Jesus, we have a responsibility to represent Him and the full, abundant life He offers to everyone around us. Therefore, the way in which we approach our own lives drastically impacts how effective we are in furthering His kingdom by bringing Heaven to Earth.

If we’re too self-focused, we lose the ability to see others. And that’s far too easy to do in this world that is overrun by busyness, distraction, and the temptation to prioritize self. All too quickly, we become engulfed in our own personal chaos, and our opportunity to testify about the way Jesus offers us another way of life is snatched away before we ever get the chance to tell others about how amazing it is.

But thank God one of the defining roles of the Holy Spirit is to swap out chaos for order. Just one look at Jesus’s life on Earth proves that abiding in the Spirit makes it possible to withstand outside mayhem while firmly maintaining an inner peace. 

And that inexplicable peace in the middle of all the chaos is what sets us apart and moves others to take notice. And when others ask how on Earth it’s possible, we get to tell them all about our Jesus and how through His sacrifice and by His great love, He gifted His children with an entirely different – better – way to live.
