Take Action Tuesday

Welcoming the quiet may feel unnatural to us, but it yields a reward that’s certainly worth fighting for. In a world full of noise and constant stimulation, quiet moments give us the space to reduce stress and recharge mentally and physically. By welcoming silence, we can cultivate mindfulness, improve focus, and foster a sense of peace that benefits both our well-being and our relationships with others.

A few ways to embrace the quiet:

*Opt for a silent drive instead of listening to music or a podcast

*Sit outside & take in the sounds of nature

*Give the gift of quietness to a friend by offering to watch their kids

*Take a break from social media for the day to quiet the mental noise

*Spend time in silence before the Lord & let HIM speak to YOU

In my younger years, I struggled a lot with keeping everything straightened up all the time. I had anxiety if someone came to the house and things were out of place. One morning, a friend stopped by right after the children left for school. Of course, the house was a mess since I didn’t have a chance to clean up yet.
I was frantic. I invited her in for coffee, and tried to calm myself down. The Lord gently reminded me that the time I spent with my friend was far more precious than what my home looked like. We sat and talked, prayed and had our coffee. That time was so special. She needed a friend, a good listener, and some encouragement. That time brought us even closer. The lesson I learned that day was the condition of my heart is far more important than the condition of my home.
