Mini Monday

In the Garden of Eden, God often asked Adam and Eve questions – not because He didn’t know the answers, but because He wanted them to pause and reflect. Each question was an invitation for them to look inward, to recognize where they were, and to realign with who He created them to be.

Through His questions, He gently draws His people back to purpose, back to intimacy, back to Himself. And He still does the same with us today. These moments are meant to stir our hearts – not to condemn, but to call us closer. So, lean in and reflect on these questions from the garden; what might God be asking you today?

  1. “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9). God asks Adam this question after he hides from the Lord in the aftermath of sin. Though God already knows all, He calls Adam to pause and see the truth of his hiding: shame was never His design, and His desire is always to draw him near.

Similarly, God may be asking you:

  • “Where are you in your heart right now?”
  • “What keeps you from coming to Me honestly and openly?”
  • “In what areas of your life are you avoiding My presence out of fear or shame?”
  • “Are you aware that I see and love you even in your weakness?”
  1. “Who told you…?” (Genesis 3:11). After Adam and Eve sin, God asks this question not to shame them further, but to help them recognize the source of the lies and fear that had entered their hearts. He is inviting them – and us – to see how deception can shape our thoughts and choices, and to return to the truth of His love and guidance.

Similarly, God may be asking you:

  • “What voices have you been listening to instead of Mine?”
  • “Where have you believed lies about yourself or about Me?”
  • “Who or what has led you to doubt My goodness or love?”
  • “How can you turn back to My truth today?”
  1.  “What have you done?” (Genesis 3:13). God asks this question NOT to condemn, but to bring clarity. He calls Adam and Eve to pause and acknowledge the consequences of their choices, helping them see reality as it truly is. In this moment, God’s question invites awareness, accountability, and the opportunity for growth and restoration.

Similarly, God may be asking you:

  • “Where have your choices led you away from Me?”
  • “What actions or decisions need to be brought into the light of My truth?”
  • “How have you contributed to the struggles or brokenness in your life or the lives of others?”
  • “What steps can you take to turn back toward My guidance and grace?”

Think of these questions as God’s way of speaking directly to you today. They invite honesty, encourage growth, and point you back to the life and relationship He designed for you. Notice where they land in your heart, and allow His guidance to influence the steps you take each day.
