Ephesians 2:6 tells us, “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” It’s a verse I’ve read countless times, but lately, it’s been sinking in deeper. Being seated means something powerful.
When a king is seated in the midst of battle, it’s not because the fight isn’t real; it’s because he’s already confident in the outcome. He isn’t pacing the floor in worry or fear. He sits in assurance, knowing that victory is certain. His posture reflects peace, not panic.
That’s what it means for us to be seated with Jesus. We aren’t fighting for victory – we’re living from victory. The enemy might throw distractions, doubts, or discouragement our way, but our seat doesn’t change.
Don’t miss this. Wherever you are right now, whatever you’re doing, pause and let it sink in: although your physical body is here on Earth battling all the complexities of this world, your spirit is victoriously seated right next to the King of Kings in the heavenly realm.
Let the weight of that truth lead you in confidence:
When the temptation feels too strong to resist, you are seated in victory.
When the despair feels too heavy to carry, you are seated in victory.
When the fear feels too much to process, you are seated in victory.
When the sin feels too deep to be forgiven, you are seated in victory.
And the most beautiful part? Your place beside Jesus isn’t something you have to earn – it’s already yours through His victory. You don’t have to strive for worth or prove your strength. You can rest, knowing your seat is secure. So stand confidently in His finished work, and live from the victory that’s already yours – not in pursuit of it.
